Celebrate Earth Day by Pulling for the House

Recycling is an important practice that we should all incorporate into our daily lives, not just on Earth Day. By recycling materials such as paper, plastic, and glass, we can reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, help conserve natural resources, and save energy.

There are many great ways to celebrate Earth Day, but did you know that you can recycle something that will not only help protect the planet, but will also support families with seriously ill children in the hospital? We encourage you to collect aluminum tabs and donate them to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States for our recycling program. That’s right – you can pull the little aluminum tabs off of soda cans, cans of vegetables, cans of cat food, or anything else with a ring tab, and Ronald McDonald House can turn them in to the recycling center for money. Since our recycling program began in 1997, those tiny tabs have raised more than $35,000 to assist with lodging costs for families in need.

Pull for the House:

  • It is an easy way for people of all ages to support RMH and raise funds to help children and their families.
  • It is a great way to teach children about philanthropy and the importance of helping the environment. Click here for some fun facts about aluminum tabs to share with children.
  • It is more hygienic and easier to store than collecting the entire aluminum can.

Collecting aluminum tabs is a great way to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of others. We hope that before Earth Day on April 22nd, you and your family will start a new habit of collecting aluminum tabs to help protect the planet and support the families being served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States.
