The Matney Family’s Story
Carl Junction, Missouri
Wade Matney was born to Mary and Michael three weeks early on January 30, 2012, and weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. On his third day in the hospital he was admitted to the NICU. His parents and sister Ella, stayed close by at Ronald McDonald House. Two days later Wade was able to go home. Michael serves on the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States.
“Staying at the Ronald McDonald House lifted a great burden for our family. Their staff and volunteers were more than happy to welcome complete strangers, as we were at the time, with open arms into their beautiful home. We were even sent home with a big basket full of gifts for our family. We appreciate the great care and compassion they share day in and day out for families so they may stay close to their child in the hospital.”
